Mike, Tommy, and Kevin welcome on attorney Danny to discuss the legal predicaments two Mighty Ducks stars find themselves in. Danny talks about Shaun Weiss’ strange sentence, why Mike Vitar could be in some trouble despite not doing much, crimes involving pee, and therapy goats.

It’s been a long road from here:

One postscript from Danny: There are indeed situations in which a person who files for bankruptcy may have their monetary punishments extinguished.
Here’s the full Shaun Weiss story according to TMZ. I just saw this story from Page Six today. It says Weiss began serving his jail time last Friday. (That’s probably why he didn’t respond to our request to come on.) Weiss’ manager (not his lawyer, to correct what Mike said on the pod) is quoted as saying he hopes Shaun gets out of jail and goes to rehab.
In December 2013, Weiss’ ex-girlfriend obtained a temporary restraining order against him when she alleged that in April of that year he punched her in the face, chased her with a machete, and peed on her while saying, “This is all you’re worth”, according to TMZ. As mentioned, a judged threw the case out in January 2014. The ex-girlfriend failed to show up for the hearing. After further research, Weiss’ ex did obtain a restraining order on a second attempt, restricting him from coming within 100 yards of her for five years.
Here are the videos from the incident involving Mike Vitar:
In the criminal case, Vitar pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery this January, according to TMZ. He was sentenced to 90 days of community service and weekly anger management classes. He was also fined $2,000 and had to pay a TBD amount to the victim.
Thanks to @dreisner12 and @duncanBruins77 for a spirited round of Quack Attack Trivia.
FYI: Minneapolis v. Higgins is not a real court case.
