Zach’s #QuackQuestion came during the Turkey Leg challenge in Episode 113.
After the pod, Zach gave us an update on the egg counters:
“I looked up our customers and the biggest packing machine they use is for 3,500 eggs per minute. That is from multiple barns but that’s the biggest we have done. We don’t sell packing machines but I believe there are some pretty big machines that can handle a lot more capacity.”
According to a 2015 article by the Associated Press, there are more roughly 200 goat farms in Iowa and goat milk had did $92.2 million in sales in the United States in 2012. A study cited in that article, done by Dairy Management, Inc., which promotes cattle dairy farmers state that goat milk accounted for 0.02 percent of milk consumption in 2014.
