While we all wait for the new Mighty Ducks to return to the ice in 2022, Sway Bhatia, who plays Sofi, will do some singing during the break.
Bhatia will take part in a benefit concert entitled, “THIS IS THE TIME, according to The Green Room 42’s official site, where the show is taking place. The show takes place on September 12. It features the music of Billy Joel and includes an all-kid cast. (It will benefit The PATH Fund, a New York-based charity that supports arts education.)
Bhatia is no stranger to music. Her Instagram profile reads “Rapper | Drummer | Dancer”
In her appearance on The Quack Attack back in March, she spoke how dancing helps her loosen up on set. She, Maxwell Simkins (Nick) and DJ Watts (Sam) all said they hoped to try to sneak their musical talents into Season 2, somehow.
There is some hope for this. Writers Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa said they gave Luke Islam (Koob) his singing parts in the series, purely because he was such an incredible singer.
Perhaps Bhatia doing this show will be a bit of a preview for Sofi’s expanded role as not just a hockey player but also the team’s pop super star? Ok, probably not. While we highly doubt the writers find a way to link this real-life Billy Joel Concert back to the character of Sofi, but we at the Quack Attack will try our hardest to do so. All suggestions welcome.
If you’re in New York or will be on September 12, tickets to the show start at $40 and are available at The Green Room 42’s website.
According to her bio on the site, this isn’t the only thing Sway has been up to. She also traveled to Italy this summer to work on another project.
