The background on the Turkey Leg Challenge
Back in Episode 103, we discussed Charlie Conway and Fulton Reed playing hooky and going to the Mall of America, where they go and eat food, including turkey legs, until they throw up.
Somewhere in that conversation we began discussing how many turkey legs we could eat in one sitting. Kevin claimed he could eat 10. At that moment the challenge was born.
We gave Kevin multiple opportunities to back out but he never did, leading to the challenge.
The Turkey Legs
Mike tried to order them online, but they didn’t arrive when they were supposed to. The full story is laid out at the beginning of the challenge. Duck call to Tommy for finding an alternative turkey leg vendor.
We got our Turkey Legs from Tasty’s Barbecue & Turkey Leg Connection, which has since closed. If you’re in the Dallas area we would recommend Turkey Leg Paradise as an alternative.
Special thanks
To all our friends for attending and watching Kevin’s disaster, especially to all those that showed their faces:
- Chucky Scuds, who also brought beer
- Jon, who was our camera man for a while and brought a lot of the snark
- Zach, for sharing his affinity for serial killers
Also, thanks to all the Quackolytes who listened, sent in questions, and watched in real time. It was a lot more fun that you were there watching Kevin’s implosion with us.
Turkey Leg Challenge Spoilers
The official count for Kevin: 2.5 turkey legs. His claim that it was too salty might’ve had something to do with it, but we think he just wasn’t up to the challenge. Maybe next time he’ll do some more training.
